Indigenous peoples across the globe are working hard to preserve their languages, recognizing that “when the language goes is when the culture and traditions suffer a breakdown,” as noted by Onondaga clanmother Audrey Shenandoah. This poster uses the Onondaga language, the indigenous language of the region that Syracuse Cultural Workers calls home. The Onondaga are the Central Firekeepers of the Haudenosaunee Confederacy. Available as a postcard.
