We seek art that instigates activism... art that challenges the powerful... that sustains and educates...
celebrating our efforts for justice and peace.

HOLIDAY CARDS
5 x 7” or 7 x 5" designs. We add simple, inspirational greetings on the inside. We primarily sell general holiday cards, but also sell Solstice, Chanukah, Kwanzaa and Christmas cards. Check out our current designs here. We'll be making final decisions in May - but sending designs sooner will increase your chances of being considered. Artists are paid 6% royalties on gross sales (retail and wholesale), plus complementary items & additional purchases at wholesale rate.

Poster Calendar
Artwork approximately 10 x 8" horizontal design, full poster is 12x26". Most of the poster is a year-at-a-glance calendar grid. See the 2023 Poster Calendar as an example. Artists are paid 6% royalties on gross sales (retail and wholesale), plus complementary items & additional purchases at wholesale rate.

OTHER SCW PRODUCTS
Posters, cards, bookmarks, buttons, stickers, mugs: 6% royalty on gross sales plus free items & additional purchases at wholesale rate. T-shirts 4% royalty  on gross sales, plus complementary items & additional purchases at wholesale rate.

WHEN TO SEND: We review work for publication year round.

Request for Submissions of Art & Poetry by ALL Women and Femmes (LGBTQIAA+)
Seeking Inspirational Work that Promotes Activism and/or Healing.

Submission Deadline January 15, 2025

There is no fee to submit work. Art & Poetry is selected by committee based on the merits of the work submitted.

  • Cover artwork: $200, plus 4 datebooks.
  • Inside Artwork: $70, plus 2 datebooks.
    • Submissions accepted in any subject matter and media.
    • Limit 8 images may be submitted:
      • Final dimensions 5.5” high x 4” wide, up to 5 MB each 
      • Separate file for each entry, PDF, JPEG, and TIFF accepted
      • Name and title of artwork in the file name, ex: janedoe_circleoflife.jpg
      • We are only accepting unpublished work
  • Poetry: $70, plus 2 datebooks.
    • Submissions accepted in any style or language (please provide English translation).
    • Limit 4 poems may be submitted:
      • 30-line maximum per poem
      • Poet name, physical address and phone number at the top of each page, Separate file for each entry
      • 12 pt single spaced, PDF and Word (.doc, .docx, .rtf) accepted
      • Name and title of artwork in the file name, ex: janedoe_circleoflife.doc
      • We are only accepting unpublished work
  • Datebook artists & poets may purchase additional datebooks at the wholesale rate.
  • EMAIL to: datebook@syracuseculturalworkers.com with "Women Artists 2024" in the subject line and include  the following:
    • Artist/Poet name, Mailing address, Email, Phone number
    • List of each item submitted with title, medium, and year created

2026 Peace Calendar - our 53rd

Begun in 1972. An inspiring celebration of peace, justice, resistance and hope. Wall calendar, horizontal format, top art size 12x12”.

Submission Deadline March 21, 2025 - early submissions are strongly encouraged and very helpful for our process!

As always, the calendar will celebrate peace, justice, resistance and hope.  Check out artwork from the last four calendars organized by month.

  • NEW FORMAT - Image Size - 12 x 12" full bleed
  • Limit - 8 images may be submitted, up to 5 MB each, in any media or subject matter
  • Include - artist name and title in file name - example: janedoe_circleoflife.jpg
  • File Types - PDF, JPEG, PNG and TIFF
  • Timeframe - Submissions are welcome now and the deadline is March 15, 2022. Submissions early in the process are particularly helpful.
  • Cover/inside artwork: $400 plus 6 free calendars.
  • Inside artwork: $250 plus 3 calendars.
  • Commissioned artwork: $300 plus 5 calendars. Artwork selected for grids: $50 plus 2 calendars.
  • Calendar artists may purchase additional calendars at a 40% discount; 15 or more at 50%.
  • THEMES: Racial Justice; Feminism, Dismantling Militarism; Universal Healthcare; Disability Rights; Mass Incarceration; Global Citizenship; Climate Justice; Grassroots Green Themes; Confronting US Empire; Cross-cultural Understanding; Community Building, LGBTQ Liberation, Economic Justice, Workers Rights, Indigenous Sovereignty and more
