Power To The People

John August Swanson

A rich, multi layered tapestry of social change images. Based on John's work 1969-1974, this is a very compelling piece for him because of his own experiences in looking for work. It connects, too, with his family life. His mother, an immigrant from Mexico, was a garment worker who joined the International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union (ILGWU) in the early 1930's.
