Book - Tenor and Reality: A Stark Contradiction

Onondaga Nation member Robert Shenandoah makes the case for why Haudenosaunee people should be exempt from the Selective Service System registration system as a result of their sovereign status. Based on significant investigation into American historical and legal records, the book summarizes the author's research toward the Master of Arts Degree in American Studies at the SUNY University at Buffalo. As Congress has recently extended Draft Registration to women, this issue may again become an important front in the effort to create a more just and peaceful nation and world.
