Assistant Bookkeeper Job Opening

Time: 35 hours/week Salary: $15/hour

In order to support better work/life balance, we have recently reduced our full-time work week to 35 hours/week. We strive to build a friendly, supportive work environment. Our staff averages over 10 years on the job and we seek people who can commit at least two years.

Benefits: Health insurance, one week paid vacation after one year (two weeks thereafter), 8 paid holidays and 5 paid personal days, $200 of free SCW products/year and a half hour paid lunch.  Exciting, challenging, supportive, cooperative, committed workplace.

Hours: 10 am - 5 pm, Mon-Fri, some flexibility and prospect for partial remote working during pandemic

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Bookkeeping

  • Process drawer reports, including journal entries in Quickbooks. 
  • Track and match up POs, receiving sheets and invoices. 

Product Ordering

  • Enter new products into our business software
  • Send out purchase orders to vendors
  • Process  bi-weekly payroll for 12+ employees
  • Complete credit applications for new vendors and any W-9 form requests
  • Troubleshoot issues with vendors – unfilled POs, price discrepancies, damaged goods...
  • Keep track of blank T-shirts in stock, be sure they are put away neatly and well organized.

General Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the full staff to make the business successful
  • Make arrangements for rental of art exhibits
  • Respond to permission requests
  • Assist with shipping tasks as needed
  • Track, order and organize office supplies
  • Respond to regular email correspondence

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Good people skills: in-person, on the phone and online
  • Reliable, responsible and accountable
  • Strong computer proficiency (Quickbooks, spreadsheets, email, web) and ability to learn new software (such as our MOM - Multichannel Order Manager software)
  • Ability to multi-task effectively
  • Accurate and detail-oriented
  • Work well under pressure/deadlines
  • Ability to use independent judgment and awareness of when to seek guidance
