Ann Altman

Born and raised in Boston, artist Ann Altman has spent most of her adult life on the left coast. She has pursued a career in art since graduating from college. Always poised to learn something new, she has done work in stained glass, hooked rugs, wood, collage, assemblage, and most 2-D media.

Her days are spent making art and in being part of her community. Locally her artwork is seen promoting various non-profit agencies. She was chosen first citizen of her town because of her commitment to using art for good. Issues of peace and justice are recurring themes.

Her husband also works at home making violin bows. He is renowned on the pot-luck circuit for his artisan bread. Her son recently graduated from college and is working for a high-tech firm outside of Portland (Oregon). Their lives are full of music, science, art and friends.
